Yup, that sounds selfish.
What I'd like is highly scalable graphics

. Fine with me if maxing everything out cripples 3 285s. But, I'd like to think it would still be an enjoyable experience (on lower settings) for someone still running a card limited to DX9. Most people are still in that boat as far as I know - most people haven't made the jump to Vista and if their GFX card is adequate for their needs, they haven't sprung for a DX10 card. Now Windows 7 is about to reach the general public and DX11 is coming, too - that's when folks will upgrade (that and when the economy turns around). It also means I could play on a laptop, should I have reason to.
I've had my ATI 4870 since it was released and their haven't been any killer apps that have made me feel the need to upgrade, nor have their been any huge improvements in graphics cards. I expect my rig will run SH5 reasonably well (barring the usual bugs that are to be expected) upon release.
