"We Were Pirates - A Torpedoman's Pacific War" by Robert Schultz and James Shell.

This book is all about Robert Hunt's war patrols on the USS Tambor (SS-198) during WWII. Robert Hunt was on the Tambor in the Pacific when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He made war patrols 1 through 11 on the Tambor, which was every war patrol the Tambor ever made except for her final patrol (number 12). Bob was a torpedoman. My grandfather was on the Tambor for war patrols 11-12, so this book is really going to be exciting for me.

Mr. Hunt is still alive today in Iowa. I understand that he's been living in an assisted living apartment since early this year.

You can find a DVD that accompanies this book on the author's website, along with an 8 minute YouTube video interview with Bob. Look here:

I've ordered my copy!
