Here's some pictures of the bow of the US sub
Growler after ramming the 900 ton Japanese cargo ship
Hayasaki, The front 25 feet of the bow was bent over in the collision, but the pressure hull was not damaged. The forward torpedo tubes were put out of action though.
Hayasaki was damaged but eventually repaired. If this is what happens when a sub rams a cargo ship, I hate to think what happens when one rams a battleship.
