Well I thought about the whole drifting equation and how your boat will stay in a forward motion for a bit after you go to ALL STOP ( i own a 26ft Sea Ray) . BUT when I actually call for all stop as posted above..The top gauge reads "STOP" but the gauge below continues to read 2 knots (OLC GUI) and I continue on my way.
Not unless I pull all my engineers out of there stations and put them to rest does the boat/engines actually come to a complete stop.
And show ZERO KNOTS on the bottom gauge.
But once I put the engineers back into there stations AGAIN I accelerate to 2knots (bottom gauge) when the top gauge is reading "ALL STOP".
So the answer to your question is NO the boat never stops.
