The Osprey definetly has it's uses. It's the combination of capabilities of a helo combined with extended range that make it usefull. Helicopters need to be carried to an AO, while the Osprey can self deploy and perform the same missions as a helo. Kinda silly to have it replace the Sea Knight though, IMO they should operate them side by side, but I guess budget doesn't stretch that far. On the other hand they still have the MH-60S, which was intended to replace the CH-46 as well.
