The message has no practical value, it's for the immersion only. My German is not that good, but as I understand it, it says that you send the message when 15 hours from base?
Here I have the map with the escort's course in and out of St. Nazaire, made when i was based there. It's the modded St. Nazaire, but it should give you a good idea wher to find the escort.
The escort is usualy a minesweeper. They will not wait for you, they have a preset course which they follow repeatedly.
