The intention is good
The intention is good but you should ask yourself some questions first:
Modding requires time and dedication, I do not say that you lack both but I believe the real purpose of modding is to accomplish something (a project - you have that now) to make people enjoy your creation.
A suicidal human playable sub is not appealing to me at all. Who in his right mind will want to drive that thing? It won't be possible to make a career that way, right?
If you want to do it just to get the hang of modding it is ok then but do not be disappointed if not many are interested in your mod at all.
Why do not you ask one of the "big teams" instead and join forces to accomplish something greater? Like joining the Grey Wolves i/e I know you do not have the "skills" right now but you can help them with minor things now and day by day learning new stuff and doing more complex things?
There are several modders that I believe will be glad to let you in their teams.
What I would love to see and play is a modded version of SH3 or SH4 with all the subs and surface ships from WWI, THAT will be cool.
