Not sure mate but there is a mod named Ship’s Acceleration Physics

To be honest with you, I have never tested it and the page doesn't say if it is v1.5 compatible or not so you can test it and tell us.

What I can tell you is that RFB has a very nice sinking physics, not the usual torpedo and blow but a hit on several places and wait, sometimes finishing the ship with the deck gun, if you try it you might like it, I do.
