I have put the 1.4 patch on SH4 now, and see an improvement in the appearance of the scenery, and the crew - much more lifelike - so that is good, but I have a strange effect appearing on the water according to the angle I am looking at it, and it is also evident in the command room. A banded effect, greys and blacks and lighter stripes, almost like a moire interference fringe, if you know what I mean ( may not have spelled that right). I expect it is me doing something wrong in nHancer or summat, and I am about to try it with the mod that removes grainyness, but if you can put your seasoned fingers on it and can say "AHA! YES! That's...."
