And never forget the Republican's deal with the country's archenemy not to release the hostages so soon that Carter could benefit from it during elections. that was clever politics, wasn'T it!
Even during the last hpurs of his precedency, Carter tried to get them out. I wonder if he knew that his opponent was not only sitting in Teheran, but Washington, too.
