The next morning, Debbie went to the beach. Debbie was a spiritual child, and she had a close affinity with nature.
The tide is high, she thought to herself. Her serenity was jarred when she looked over and saw Thorton.
Her heart lifted, she ran over to speak with him. That's when she met
Mrs. Thorton Wolff.
Mrs. Wolff didn't take too kindly to Debbie's interest in her husband.
But Debbie was high-spirited and not about to take any crap from a skanky washed-up model of a trophy wife. Debbie was ready to rip her to shreds.
Then she laid into Thorton and he wilted before her wrath.
After the Wolff's fled, Debbie felt small and alone, like a debutante marooned on the island of lost souls.
