Well, I waited 250 km west of the Straits, and lo and behold, within five minutes realtime, a large convoy came along.

I tried to attack by going to silent running, pointing right at the convoy, going to 150m, and standing still. When I detected the front guard pass over me (warships at approximately 3 o-clock and 9'o clock) I ordered the boat to periscope depth. Unfortunately, I must have come up too slow, as by the time I got to periscope depth, the entire convoy was out of sight behind me, and I had the pleasure of evading a two frigate rear guard.

I have heard the tactic I used being used many times on this board, but it seems I can't ascend fast enough to get inside the convoy. Any ideas?
