I'd have to say I liked HoI2 (Doomsday/Armageddon) better, EU3 is less focused on combat, and I think it still suffers from the horrible ping-pong bug that causes armies to retreat back and forth even in your own territory

Both of them are good games though, really depends on what era you like better and what you sort of game you want to play

BTW, HoI3 is supposed to come out this year too
