nHancer will only work with nVidia graphics chips/cards. Most likely his laptop does not have an nVidia graphics card, but rather an Intel onboard graphics chip or similiar. Not to dismiss nHancer, as it is a great utility (I've been using it for a few years now) but the same tweaks that can be made in nHancer can also be made via the default nVidia control panel that is installed whenever an nVidia graphics driver is installed or updated. I prefer using nHancer because the interface for the tweaks is more user friendly in nHancer than it is in the default nVidia control panel.
