Two switches perform the same function (turning the SJ on and off) probably because the field of view of the player is usually focused on either the PPI or the A-Scope is my guess. The PPI is relative bearing (and distance of course) and the A-Scope is 'precise' distance. A long time ago someone said the m is for "multiply by" - not meters - on SH4's A-Scope if using imperial.... someone else said "multiply by" is implied, which is usually true.

The SD Air search radar is located in the control room of the fleet boats if you look at the damage screen page but the unit itself is not modeled, nor is the fathometer, or the bathythermograph. Too bad.

I usually configure my SJ station like banjo said - rotating the view to show both the PPI and the A-Scope in one screen. Then I can keep an eye on the distance while using the PPI to do a 'normal approach course' of the target(s).

It would be nice to see these missing instruments. I am no good at making models or UV mapping but maybe someday someone will.

Happy Hunting!
