What these commercials are trying to say, by using humor quite well, is that the owner of a car has to take responsibility of his/her vehicle. There is no 'trunk monkey', sometimes cars just get stolen etc. That is where the US car owner just has to suck it up and buy a new car. Maybe from the company in question. Hey, it's consuming, and that's the American way.
