Great explanation RR, but if a guy wants to cut off his nose to spite himself here's the sharp knife.
This bearing tool is not a stock item so
first remove the mod your using through JSGME (that means take it out of the stock game). Put the mod back over in the left hand panel of JSGME. Go to the Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific folder, drill down into the "Mods" folder and find the mod you just deactivated.
If you use the Porpoise class sub (or chose any sub your using; and/or do this to all subs). Go into the Data\Submarine\NSS_Porpoise\
NSS_Porpoise_ship.dds and rename the file
"NSS_Porpoise_ship.dds" to anything you like, such as
"Remove_NSS_Porpoise_ship.dds". I suggest you simply rename the file instead of removing it (you may want it back later). Poof, the subs bearing plotter is gone. Again, do this for all subs so it won't show up when you change subs. This will put you back into what the Stock game provides, simply a sub silhouette. If you don't like the sub silhouette, meaning you don't want your sub to be portrayed on the Nav map at all, there's a way to remove that as well. Using a blank (or dummy) .dds image. If this is getting over your head I suggest you start learning to mod or accept the game for what it is.
