I used to do a lot of bush regeneration work, leading teams of Australian and international volunteers mostly weeding and planting trees. The wetlands (read swamp) work was particularly dirty and difficult, and I didn't find much difference with generations.
Nationalities, now thats different!
I won't go into the shabbiest, laziest, whiniest little beggars

...but the most dedicated, hard working and uncomplaining were the Japanese girls. They'd just dig right in-snakes and all-and I had to
plead with them to take a break.
