Well, I am sure that I posted here before about this, but definatly not in this thread. I grew up as a Trekkie, and actually came from a Trek message board to here. TNG was my first encounter with Trek and TOS was the thing my father liked that was very corney, but should be respected. DS9 was tops, especially with the long multi-season story arcs, in depth character development, and the darkness (which some would argue that Roddenberry would have never allowed).
VOY had an interesting premis but screwed it up, with the alien of the week bit, especially the lack of continuation of consequences for their actions (which BSG did to their credit). In many ways VOY could be epitimized by Ens Kim. Lots of potential but still a low grade version of what it could have been. Not that it didn't have its shining moments, like many which involved the Doctor story arc.
ENT in many ways was not Trek, because it avoided trek even though it was founded on it. You could tell with the beginning sequence, when Star Trek wasn't even used in the origonal title shot. The entire temporal war distracted it from where it should have been heading, which was the Romulan-Earth War which we never got to see.
All that being said, I will watch this, to support the franchise. But I go in with mixed feelings ... cadet kirk takes command after the captain dies although multiple bridge crew with time in space sit around in shock. No wonder why his ego never seemed to fit into that chair.
TOS had its old salts in The Doctor, Spock, and Scotty to balance the crazyness of Kirk and the young Chekov. Hopefully we will see the balance here.
Oh, and lets avoid this:
