Of course, Bill Mitchell was right about air power. During the invasion of Okinawa, the Yamato was sent in to distroy the landing fleet and then beach on Okinawa to help bolster the defense- the ultimate Kamakazi attack. But, the air strikes from Admiral Mitscher's Task Force 58 sank the Yamato will all aboard before it could make good on its mission. So much for the big battle wagon.
I sank the Yamato with 8 torpedoes- six in the first flurry and two later after my guys reloaded.
