Welcome aboard SirMartman. Tis funny, I had similar issues with 2.1 but with no MODS installed. It all went away when I installed 3.0, never to re-occur. No idea what it was as it only happened intermittently and not all the time. In rough seas, FPS would drop to 4/5 as the bow hit a wave and the game would stutter and stagger and then bounce back to 25/30 FPS.
Weird?
Also, as jimbuna says, it could be your graphics card too.
I recently installed a new GC, a Gainward GeForce 8800GT 512MB and have noticed that any FPS irregularities that I previously experienced with my 256MB card have all gone. It may be worth looking in to.
Again, as jimbuna says, RAM could be part of the issue too………..as suggested, drop you specs in here, I’m sure someone will be able to give you a better insight than I.
