Very nice pic through periscope
I would say that it is clear by now that the picture you used is of a US periscope.
Wether japanese submarines used them or not, is the question, but I'm inclined to believe that there would be some differences.
Are the numbers in japanese normally written as in our language, or do they use special symbols?
