Welcome aboard!
What I mean is that the angle the TDC says the torpedo will go in slants out from the in a rounded L shape to the left of the ship, and moving the spread angle justs moves the end of the line, like I can only fire torpedos to the left of the sub instead of 180 degrees to the front of the boat. At any rate, when my sonarman hears something, I generally surface the whole boat so I can see whats going on and head straight for it, then dive and drive around until I can get that line over the ship and fire off some torpedos and hope they hit.

I found this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t.../m/9051068355), which looks all fine and good and I will definetly try that out, but am still open to all tips you and any else may have.
