Possibly. I think his famous quote was this one:
"When this war is over, the Japanese language will be
spoken only in hell." Luckily for him PC was decades away.
In reality many Japanese airman often tried to drown themselves or attacked their rescuers when picked up. So when I see them I just point in the direction of Japan and say: "start swimming."
