Point taken. Maybe I should have titled this post "dumbest LOST ever suffered". Anyway, Captain Jahn will be costing the Soviets countless Kilos of Potatoes and Borsch for years to come, not to mention NKVD man-hours for interrogation and torture. In his own way he will continue to contribute, however small, to the German war effort...
In a real world situation, I will fire off one last radio message to
Novorossiysk (In German Hands then) and request a rescue. Take over a life boat from one of my victims. And row north to meet the rescue party (or the port). It has happened before, a captain lost his uboat, somehow get back into friendly port and continued on with another boat. Brandi did it.
