If its a munitions ship going boom, it will get you quite far away.

At some point I had a Liner loaded with ammo (by mistake) going highspeed and escorted by a DIDO and a destroyer.

Well, believe me or not, when that liner went up, the Dido went too, while the DD ... was more than one piece by that point.
