This is for the 1.5 US Boats SH4 (add-on) not the German U-Boats. If you have SH4 ver 1.4 see page 1 of this thread and download the JSGME version he made.

Backup a copy of your ver 1.5 Commands.cfg found in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Cfg
to someplace safe.
Open Commands.cfg in the location above with a plain text editor like Notepad and find the line [Cmd158]
Paste a text version of this section (Edit that little section) to say:
[Cmd158]
Name=Toggle_snorkel
Ctxt=1
;Key0=0x59,,"Z"
Key0=0x58,sC,"Shift X"
-------
Backup a copy of your ver 1.5 Menu.txt found in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu
to someplace safe.
Open Menu.txt in the location above with a plain text editor like Notepad and find the lines 4415 and 4416.
Edit those lines to say:
4415=Raising SD antenna!;Rising snorkel!
4416=Lowering SD antenna!;Lowering snorkel!

Backup a copy of your Sensors_sub_US.sim found in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Library\USSubParts
to someplace safe.
Hex edit your own or put Anvart's Sensors_sub_US.sim in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Library\USSubParts

not sure what the deal is but the download version was giving me nothing but CTD
i followed your instructions and redid my stock v1.5 files and then used anvarts sim file and everything works fine now. it raises and lowers by using the "shift+x" keys.
thanks for your very helpfull post and thank you anvart for giving us a great mod.
EDIT:
i think i found the problem with the download version, its got a typo error
it actually reads: 4415=
Rising SD antenna!;
Rising snorkel!
instead of correctly saying - 4415=
Raising SD antenna!;
Raising snorkel!
you must change the spelling for it to work
