Default gfx-board broken- or something else?

Bad things love company. Since the week before christmas, my Tv broke, my monitor broke, the left box of my hiFi broke, and now I assume that it is my gfx board that is broken.

Could you confirm by the pics below that I assume right that th problem lies with the gfx board? Thankfully, it is just 1.5 months since the 2 year warranty became void - more of this perfect timing ...

Could it be the mainboard RAM?

Or the Mainboard?

I rule out drivers, or problems with the ingame-software code, since i just have reinstalled my system and everything, manually (no image-copying). I had these kinds of glitches happening on the old installation and with the old monitor and three or four drivers i tried, too. I have them also with other games, as I became aware of it: ArmA, and Oblivion, there it seems to originate from one pixel and often spreads in triangular pattern, sometimes visible, sometimes not - depending on the viewing angle you have to the location of origin. However, it seems to be limited to 3D applications only (but not FS), and never happens in 2D games (strategy), or office software. I also have a small number of "wild" pixels randomly appearing on the screen, sometimes, nothing major, but then again: nothing that took place before.

I still use an old system and currently cannot afford to buy a completly new one (some major replacements too much in too short time...), so do not argue with me about AGP versus PCI. I could get an AGP Gfx card relatively cheap, a 7950 GT with 512 MB, replacing my 7800 GS with 256 MB). I am sometimes confused by the numbers nVidia uses, but I assume that I could expect a performance equal to that of my 7800, maybe even slightly more - BUT NOT CONSIDERABLY LESS, yes...?
