Here's an example of the kind of message I was describing. The message is copied from RL_E messages_en.txt:
Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine@^Deutsche Kräfte auf See^|Agents Report 1941.10.23:||Convoy SC.51 Departed Sydney CB for Liverpool on 9 November 1941.|Estimate 42 merchants heavy escort.|Oils Ore Sulphur Tinned goods Corn|WORCESTERSHIRE (Br) 11,402 tons AMC

Note that the message is dated 23 October 1941, and the convoy is reported to have departed on 9 November 1941.

I googled SC 51 and according to one source, that convoy departed Sydney on 23 October 1941. It arrived in Liverpool on 9 November 1941.

Little glitches like this don't detract from the fact that RL_E adds tremendously to SH3. It's easy to edit the messages_en file to correct dates, if one is a stickler for historical accuracy.
