Another difference is the sinking mechanics. NYGM uses a dedicated flooding model which practically eliminates any chance of a ship blowing up and sinking 30 seconds after a torpedo hit. This means you might hang around for hours waiting for a ship to sink (or not sink). Altogether a pretty cool thing.

Agreed.....the sinking mechanics do tend to leave you pondering, although I've not yet downloaded the latest version
