I believe that is called a 'hypnogogic' experience, when, in the border between sleep and wakefulness, you clearly 'hear' a snatch of conversation, or your name called or a noise such as a doorbell or phone ringing. People can also 'see' things, though in fact their eyes are closed.
This has happened to me on occasion. It is quite a common experience, so I understand. |
