S! Freiwillige, good to see you as well. Actually I play SH4 as much as IL2 these days.
I did manage to complete this segment of the mission. I thought if the German Navy can dash up the English Channel in front of the whole Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, then I can show the IJN a thing or two. I made a full speed run between the two Japanese task forces. The two DDs nearest me actually got within visual range and gave chase but I was far enough ahead and got to deep water. I crash dived to 400 ft. went to silent running, lowered speed to just under one knot and slipped away as they laid a few depth charge patterns far astern of me.
After nightfall I went back to the drop point, waited another four plus hours, and was able to complete the supply drop.
I am now cruising southeast to see what trouble I can stir up around Davao.
