I think the 3 different rounds available for the deck gun are because the later 5.25 inch is a dual purpose and won't fire AP. I haven't tried the deck gun on aircraft using AA rounds but there aren't the kinds of changes in elevation needed to fire at aircraft and the AA rounds don't "puff" into little black clouds. I remember in Dynamix's "Aces of the Deep" the first round out of the DG was always screwy as the round was-blowing out the barnacles, water and baby octopus. That would be good to see too.

By mid 1942 the US Navy was using radar for ranging and fire direction on surface ships. It would be good to see this on the subs too.

I agree-something needs to be done to more realistically model the deck gun and AAA. A more realistic looking DG is a good start.
I like that "aircraft and the AA rounds don't "puff" into little black clouds" as i remember it from the movie "Pear Harbour" when the Japanese were firing at the American Long Range Bombers you could see black puffy clouds in the air as the shell would explode and that would've meant that there is gonna be added a new sound for this (when the shell exlodes and turns into that puffy black cloud" ....hmm this is gonna be yet one of my star topics near future, ah well were making a bit of progress each day.
