I don't see AMD going to 10mn anytime soon. All of the semiconductor vendors (AMAT, TEL, KLA, FEI, etc) dance to intel's beat. Escpecially if AMD truely goes fab-less, somebody has to pony up the money to buy the tool-sets that are capable of that level of manufacturing.

I don't remember what AMD's current spec is 65 nm or 45 nm. i think the i7 is XX nm, but I might be mistaken. Plus the i7 is using some new metal types that AMD is not (AMD is still using Cu process, which is old school).
