mine is a geforce 8500 gt and i am running nhancer.maybe you need to have a look at your drivers or card settings or run nhancer is veeery good but i realy don't know what is causing this...sorry
ps: i have read somewhere (i think rubini said) that your AA must not be larger than 4 or else you miss the halo . have a look here :
