I use Rhapsody for my music. They keep a file of music purchased. I reformatted my drive. Loaded up Rhapsody and all my purchased music was loaded to my drive. I had no issues with it and no back up needed. I do prefer CD over the MP3 player. It won't be long until CD is a thing of the past. Look at the history. Reel to reel, 8 track, cassette, CD...mp3 next.
