It's nearly two years since I last read them but IIRC I thought he was pretty pro Doenitz and if anti anything, it was Canadian, but only in a small way :hmm:
Either way, two great volumes/reference books on the Atlantic struggle and commonly referred to by myself as 'The Bible'
I can wholeheartedly recommend his Silent Victory (one volume) as an equally definitive account of the Pacific struggle
