:hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
I've had the misfortune of knowing people who approach this level of obliviousness (I prefer that term because no one intends to be stupid, imo). In my case, the idolized extremist philosophy was that of the KKK. While such people are social misfits, at best, and often downright abrasive, at least they are stupid enough that they are easily taken advantage of. In that way, we can benefit from their foolishness.
However, they have the right to believe and speak in whatever manner they choose so long as they do not violate the rights of others (btw, there is no right to be free from being insulted). Should I ever meet these people, and come to despise them as much as I suspect I would, I would still fight, and die, if neccesary to protect their freedoms of speech and belief against one who would take them, no matter how good their intentions might be.
On a somewhat lighter note, I'd love to be a fly on the wall at this kid's first job interview, assuming he makes it through his school years. Maybe he'll break away from his parents' ideology, but the rotten apple doesn't often fall far from the tree.
