How did you choose your Username?

Just for fun....

Mine was an easy choice. I had to have one that the wifey could remember (she's not computer friendly, Bless:D ) so it's my first name + hers. Not original but easy to remember.

How did you decide on your username?

Kaleun_Saxi 10-25-06 03:49 AM

Mine speaks for itself, too.

I play a submarine commander, so my military rank is Kapitaenleutnant, in short Kaleun (usual German abbreviation). My last name is Sachse (english Saxon), my nick name is Saxi, that makes Kaleun Saxi :smug:

Ah, I see you like Tin Tin. I used to love reading those.

P_Funk 10-25-06 04:06 AM

Mine has been my standard online name for a quite a few years. I chose it randomly. I was signing up for a message board and grabbed one of my dad's tapes beside the stereo (recorded off his Vinyl) and it happened to say P Funk - Motor Booty Affair.
Since then I have actually become a hell of a Funkateer.

As a hunter I always see a target everywhere

Well, I am more into Walt Disney's Donald Duck, really. I haven't read much of Tin Tin (I prefer Tin Tin the DJ instead  ), to be honest. But I found that image and really like it. It fits to "der Alte", als most Kaleuns were named in WWII by their crews (hence "Das Boot").

I chose mine when I volunteered at my local Free Geek, a computer recycling center that's been hugely successful here in Portland, OR. I did their "adopt-a-computer" program, where you work 24 hrs (not all at once! :D) and in return they give you a refurbished computer, called a Freak Box, loaded with Linux (Debian with KDE). Thus "geek" is a badge of honor.

I've been a puter "geekette" since 1995 and it seemed logical to choose shegeek72. No, 72 is not my age! :o

Captain Nemo 10-25-06 05:05 AM

I chose mine because I enjoyed as a kid the novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne and this being a sub sim forum thought it quite appropriate. I half expected it to be taken already when I signed up but was lucky.

Hi Steed,

you've got a very nice signature. You should listen to the new Pet Shop Boys song "Integral" which deals exactly with that topic!

"...Everyone has
Their own number
In the system that
We operate under
We're moving to
A situation
Where your lives exist
As information
One world
One life
One chance
One reason
All under
One sky
Unchanging
One season

If you've done nothing wrong
You've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide
You shouldn't even be here
You've had your chance
Now we've got the mandate
If you've changed your mind
I'm afraid it's too late
We're concerned
You're a threat
You're not integral
To the project..."
