Change start page of Recognition manual?

I was cruising the general discussion forum when I ran across yet another new Kaleun asking the recurring question about where to find the merchant ships in the recognition manual.

It struck me that it was pretty silly/dumb of the devs not to make it so that the book opened up to the merchant section in the first place. I know some folks here have done some remarkable work modding the recog manual, and I've used a few of such mods, but as far as I remember I've never seen one that altered the default starting page so it would open up to the merchants section first.

So, a challenge - is this possible and could someone create such a mod? I know this won't really help the noobs who can't find the merchant ships (I'm sure they would figure it out by the time the could find and install a mod that would change it), but it still kinda annoys me after all this time that I have to flip to it every time I open up the book, so I think this would still be useful for the community (and, it would be a good way to introduce the noobs to the concept of mods, since we could answer their recurring question with a link to the mod that fixes the problem :D )

sounds like a good idea  ... but since were touching the subject of minor anoyences with the ID book: I find it a bit tiredsome that when stalking a convoy you have to switch between the "english naval" and the "international merchant" sections back and forth to properly identify the various types of ships "mixed in" in the convoy... it get's even more complicated with international convoys.

If anyone could do something to fix this, it would be great.

Someone said it was set in alphabetical order so I guess a good ordering could be done.

At least for me it starts with A, and I just go back (to the left) one page and it's on the Merchants.

Think what it must have been like for real kaleuns: a different book to grab for each type.

If you're not playing at 100%, just click on the top of the 'clipboard' where it says "ship". It will go straight to the correct one.

The recog manual is in Alphabetical order and follows the Roster folder

Thats why - in GW- Albania is first then its America (even though its written in German so appears out of order "Vereinigte Staaten" )

I tried changing the CovMerchants.tga to CovAMerchants.tga. It had no effect, still defaulted to CovAmerican.tga
