Finding out convoy course

Can somebody tell me how to figure out a ship or convoy course?
In all other subsims the course is indicated (convoy heading 327 degrees) but not in sh3, only bearings.
The way i plan my intercepts, I need to know the excact course.
thnks

Do you mean when the convoy icon first pops up on the nav-map screen? or do you mean once you have it in sight?

If on the nav-map, click on it and it will give you a general direction, such as "North by North West", that can easily be translated into degrees (in this case 337.5 degrees)

If you mean when you already have it in sight, just make sure that you're looking at several ships and have your crew send a radio "contact report"... that'll give you exact heading and speed for the convoy.

Are you thinking about those Contact Reports on the chart? If so, use the little tail in the box, draw a line along that tail and use the bearing tool to find the course. (The tail, as the name implies, indicates the direction the convoy is coming from.)

I found that drawing a line from that tail in the box is far from accurate and the convoy ends up many degrees off course after a few miles.

But hey!!! I never knew about that 'send contact report' will give you the degrees!
This is great news!
That's all I need to know!
