O M G!

I can't believe they suspended a woman teacher just becuase she would not take off her veil!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061015/...n_veil_dispute

"Azmi has refused to remove her black veil, which leaves only her eyes visible, in front of male colleagues. She was suspended from her job, but has taken her case to an industrial tribunal, a court that handles cases on employment law, which will make a decision in the next few weeks."

The U K has gone P C insane!

Why can't she wear it? How does it make a difference?

In the entire article, not once did anyone mention...... how do the children feel about it?

Quite frankly, I see this as a case of appropriate dress in an employment position, so its a non issue to me. I would be frowned upon if I went to work in shorts, so what makes her any different. Children to to make eye contact and see facial expression of thier teachers - it is part of the learning process, so I am not sure what the big deal is on this one. If this lady doesn't like it, she can get a job where they permit her to wear such things.

Isn't it against the Koran for the woman to hold a job anyway, or to be even educated for that matter? The Taliban seem to think so, so if she wants a job that is against the Koran in the first place.....

Aww, that takes all the fun away. If I were in that school, I'd team up with my little friends to harass that teacher as the Ninja teacher:

"Teacher! Teacher! Can we learn the Shurikens today? Or how about some Wakizashi quick-draw practice? Pleeeeease? I'm bored of the Nunchakus already!"

"Nooooo! Little Billy applied the Five-Point Exploding Heart Technique on me! I'm gonna dieeeeee!!! Waaaaaa!!!"

The school should make a deal with the students. She can remain in the school if the students are also allowed to wear veils, male included, especially with the eye-cover add-on, or even Burqas. How neat would that be? You can not only sleep in class, but also wear head-phones and listen to your favourite music when sleeping gets old.

What's so PC about it? I would have thought completely the opposite given the current climate.

You know, we have laws in the U.S. that prohibit folks from walking around in public while wearing a mask. Maybe you guys need to think about something like that. :D

nah they couldn't pass a law like that here..they'd have to arrest every politician in the country...come to think of it they'd have to arrest everybody...given that wearing a mask is precisely what having a "lifestyle" is actualy all about..:rotfl:
