With incidents like this, its a wonder they won the war-

I was attacking a convoy right off the coast of England. I set my attack right in the middle of the convoy. As I was trying to reload for another attack, while hiding under/near merchants, several destroyers and tons of aircraft were depthcharging the heck out of the place.

At one point, two planes managed to hit each other head on while dive bombing toward each other, and the wreckage from one cartwheeled into a Destroyer and set it on fire!

Why should I bother taking out British DDs when the RAF is doing it for me? :rotfl:

Too bad you didn't have the Benny Hill music playing on your Grammophone. That would have made that scene complete. :rotfl:

Unfortunately no. Of course, nobody expects stuff like that to happen. Too bad, would have made a great video! this makes me wonder about ship collisions- so far the computer is pretty good at keeping its ships from crashing into each other, but I wonder how long...

Hybris 10-14-06 11:06 PM

I have seen plenty of ships run into each other but they were either friendly or netural. But there was this one time in Freetown (African west coast) when a DD tring to get to me crashed at flank speed into the dock breaking the ship in half but the bow of the ship did manage to get into the water on the other side of the dock. That was interesting to say the least.

in one convoy attack two destroyers launched premature depth charges, the explossions sunk the ships.

it was in rough weather, perhaps an accident moving the heavy explosive barrels in a storm :rotfl:

i donīt get renown but was funny to see

I thought that the game wouldn't give me renown for it but I got renown for it. (And lost 20% of my HI):D

_Seth_ 10-15-06 04:28 PM

In my experience: If you fire a torpedo (or some deck gun shells) at a vessel (or aircraft), you will get renown if something else sinks it afterwards. On one of my patrols i sent an eel into a ship, but it didnt sink....:nope: Then the Luftwaffe came and saved my day, blowin' that ship sky high. And i got renown for that. First come, first served!

Razman23 10-15-06 04:43 PM

I was coming home from patrol to my homebase Bergen. The weather was really foul and I thought that I might ground myself in the canel since the waves were so high. While in the channel about forty clicks from port, I spotted flames in the woods. I put my glasses on it. It was two german fighters burning next to each other. I assumed they collided in air and crashed onto the bank.
