Not all my sinkings are being recorded?

From time to time I will sink an enemy ship (see it go down) and the log book does'nt record it, also in multiplayer the end tally screen also does'nt record it. Has this happened to anyone else and if so why is this happening? This might happen once in every three or four missions. V 1.4 installed. I don't recall if the map showed the sinkings or not but the torpedo hits were announced by my weapons officer.

Not only have I reinstalled the game but I also have a new SH3 DVD (other one cracked) that I reinstalled from? So reinstal from a new DVD and still the problem?

I can't be the only one this has happened to...done a search but can't see anything.

If the ships you've sunk have respawned from previous sunk ships, you will not be credited for them. I have done it a couple of times and it has costed me a couple of torps, some deck gun rounds and some damge to my boat (they may be ghosts, but the shell they fire a real enough!):o

No they haven't respawned.

Hmm I had this yesterday, I was in a different grid and sunk a old medium cargo hard to know for sure because I am using GW 1.1a which will not tell you what ship is what, but she went down with my last torpedo and I got no torpedo impact message and nothing in my log, it was flying a british flag by the way. I never had this before and have been playing SH3 since its original release two years ago.

Same ship and greywolf 1.1. also.

But this first happen to me before i had the greywolves mod. No record of 2 x small merchants in that instance.

Its a well known problem, it exist since SHIII came out. In SP I dont have this problem, but in MP very often...

Dont know what cause this problem...

HunterICX 10-13-06 05:55 AM

:-? Well, never had problems with it....only when I waited hours and went away because I know without any eels/DG ammo left that bloody tanker is going to see an other day...

in MP the only reason i can think of is that someone else shot ur ship down.

No, I had this often in MP, even when I was the only one who hit the ship... Maybe it has something to do with system performance and internetconnection...

I have just ISDN... and my System is low-end... (2Ghz, 512mb ram, Radeon 9800)

your system isnt really that bad
I,m on an 2,8 Ghz, 512 DDR and an Geforce FX5700LE 256 TD
but I got DSL 1024/320 internet

I think the ISDN connection is causing the problem in MP.

Or something as simple as Friendly Air Support . Did you notice any triangles on the map ? If you don't have GW's, they will show up as Blue Triangles.

If I remember right, there's a bug that occurs when you make upgrades to your U-boat before you start your first patrol that results in tonnage not being credited to you. The workaround is to wait until after your first patrol before buying any upgrades.

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but I hope it helps.

I came accross a merchant that had blundered into a mine and was moving slow and on fire.

I put him out his misery easly enough but recieved no credit.

I have also seen ships go down on their own due to rough weather.

Is it possible that these ships get "flagged" with some damage so that the original source of the damage (mine / wave) gets the credit ?

No I don't believe so. The problem is in multiplayer and I have cable. No one else hits the ship and it is calm. Re the SP U boat (change U boat details before patrol) known problem, well I didn't even play a single mission SP after reinstal, I went straight to multiplayer.
