How doyou sink the couragous?
 

In the mission its to far away and moving to fast I cant get within 4000 m without being detected. if i go slow it just drives away from me

Two things you can try. First: Target an escort and sink it with an electric fish. This will get the task force to slow and start zig zagging. That battleships should drop to 9 knots on speed, which makes them a sitting duck for a good spred. Secod option: Fire a spread with Steam torps with Medium to high speed and impact pistols. Two is good but three is perfered. Good hunting!

Oh ya after you fire and sink her......ALLLLAAAARRRRMMMMMM!!!!!

Run flank as fast as you can on the suface zig zaging to minimize the damage then when you get with in range go to periscope depth and fire off all your tubes in a tight spread then crash dive as deep as possible and go silent from then on out.

Take out 1 or 2 escorts the carrier will slow down. wait till it's goes to about 8knts and fire (magnetic) she's history do it in a IX-D2 surface and play with the planes too.(just kiddin not recommended)
