Multiplayer missions CTD - Please Help!

Hi, have been playing a Campaign with no problems but my Son visited me and we tried playing some multiplayer missions, a few worked but most (around 80%) just caused both our machines to CTD, :-? can anyone suggest what type of mods would cause this to happen? I suspect the addition of new ships but not sure!
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.:)

Hey Reece i play MP quite a bit and have suffered many ctd's!
Are you play stock? 1.4 patch? or GW? If you are playing with mods on your game it will crash if the other person or persons you are playing with dont have the same mods as you. You all need to have the same setup for it to work.
For playing MP i have made a dual install. So i have my carrere game which is SH3 + 1.4 Patch + GW1.1A and many new ships and other mods. And my MP install which is just SH3 + 1.4 PATCH + GW1.1A with no other mods.
Also if you are playing GW online you have to make sure when you install GW that the optional options that the are they for you pick such as genric ships names. Every one has to have the same items clicked or you will crash. I hope this helps. For some more info on this check out this link.

Thanks Chris I don't use GW, just a selection of around 75 mods!:D so trying to figure out what mods would cause this is a problem in itself! I am using 1.4b and not online, am using LAN, also both machines have exactly the same setup (mod files), I will check out the thread you you mentioned in the hope that something there will help.:yep:
Reece.
