Blurry attack scope, sabotage?

Is this another one of SH3Commander's sabotage acts? If so I'm happy that at least my observation scope is still working. I just miss the x10 magnification of the att.sc.

Malfunction really, It will eventually clear but after a longer time. Of course not much use if you keep your scope close to water level and the waves keep going over it.

SteamWake 10-06-06 09:46 AM

Looks like Bernard has been blowing his nose near they eyepiece again.

Well, it didn't clear even on the surface. This is not the usual blurring when raising the scope while submerged. It is one which remains and rather gets worse with time.

Oh and SteamWake, not Bernard this time. He's safely locked in one of the external reserve tubes, waiting for his heoric task to become the first German kaiten of WW2. :arrgh!:

Looks like the same people who made the lens for the Hubble telescope made yours as well. Not to worry, we will send the space shuttle over with a new lense to replace it.

Hm, maybe Bernard has enough arm length from his external tube to reach the scope. Gonna give it a try. :D

Safe-Keeper 10-06-06 11:28 AM

It's the SH3 Commander sabotage mod. Some partisan's been tampering with it.

sabotage LOL!!! whats he done? rubbed vaseline on the glass :rotfl: ive never heard of anything so ridiculous, i thought such things were checked in port.

Hartmann 10-06-06 01:39 PM

Flooded or polished with an abrasive paper or grinding tool

I recomend check the glass cleaner product , they can put paint inside and it could be worse.

you need a kriegsmarine secret weapon, the periscope glasses like the hubble space telescope :rotfl:

with total realism,is very important check the gears before leave port

Thank you for your polite and mature post. It's set an example for the rest of us:roll:.

Anyways, it's got to do with the lens cover or whatever. I'm sure you can find some history buff to explain it to you - since you're such a nice and respectful little guy:p.

It's used for the lubrication of various forms of... "Torpedoes" on board the submarine.

well i've studied naval warfare for some time and i've yet to find any evidence that sabotage of U-boats by enemies was as extensive as that portrayed in SH3 Commander. Sabotage of boats by U-boat crews occurred particularly when things get nasty after the "2nd Happy time" of 1942. U-boats were relatively well guarded and security was tight, im not saying these things didnt happen but I they would be noticed prior to going to sea. Its unrealistic to suggest that a boat gets 2 weeks into the atlantic and spots a potential target and only then do they realise that someone has dropped some grease on the periscope! VERDAMT!
