Happy birthday SOS
SOS message had 100 years this day, adopted the october 3th 1906 at Berlin conference .
A special dedicace for all those who were rescued by these 3 simple letters. |
I wonder what would happen if someone used CQD instead of SOS, would the rescue services know what to make of it...is it still a recognised distress signal? :hmm:
the morse code is not in use since the feburary 2, 1999 for the destress call, now this is the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.
SOS and CQD are both recognised distress calls and you can send via a radio its just now things have changed and the new SOLAS rules been introduced that things have changed.
I've tried dropping an SOS here but Subsim won't take 3 letter posts, so I'll have to do it the hard way:
dit, dit, dit, space, dat, dat, dat, space, dit, dit, dit. |
