Don't know what SH3 Gen is, take a look and see
I posted this thread at UBI because no one talks about it, knows what it is, or what it looks like. I have some screenies of like the Kaptains Log, and Nav Map with Mines & Subnet markings.

I run SH3Gen before every loaded save-game. Wouldn't be without it to be honest. I guess it doesn't get talked about much because it isn't a flashy mod, but a solid reliable "workhorse" addon, lol. It works well, adds to the enjoyment of the game and deserves a little more recognition. :)

I agree with you 100% ;)

It is like to have the Enigma machine recieving intel from the BdU (U-Boat High Command) Very nice! I will give it a try. Thanks.:rock::rock: |
That looks pretty interesting. Ill have to check it out.
Never heard of it cause I dont visit the Ubi forums... too much :dead: there for me. Thanks for the heads up ! |
To tell you the truth, I haven't seen much benefit from it yet really.
I do continue to use it, hoping something beneficial will come eventually. And I do laugh sometimes when my primary order is to travel to some grid just to check the weather, or telling me to go somewhere for observation reasons only. Yea right, like I'm really going to do that. :88) And so far, even though my intelligence is turned up as high as it goes, I usually end up running into something else long b4 or after where they had me travel to. So my advice is to take care of your 24 hour patrol and then go where you want. |
I wonder if they could add renown into that mod, Like I'd get extra renown for compling with extra objectives.
I don't think Id be able to read that map now anyway. I just died in a career, so since I have some expierence playing the game I switched everything over to German, and everything even the captains log is in german. |
I always try to undertake those "secondary missions" I get from it, even if it's just to go to Trondheim on a recon mission without sinking anything or getting spotted. It greatly helps to make every patrol unique.

SH3 Gen for me is most valuable for the mines & subnet markings on the Nav Map, and Idea's on where to go next for extra Tonnage. |

The truth is that the little information about Sh3Gen I posted usually got buried in all the other stuff. Whenever someone bumped the thread about Sh3Gen, there was a new wave of people downloading it and almost anyone liked it, but then it disappeared again. I also tried to make Neal publish it for download in the Subsim Files, but strangely he has ignored my request. Maybe he hasn't got my mails and I should try again. I cannot do very much in terms of advertising stuff, because moving around I didn't have an internet connection at home the whole last 12 months, and I can only go online while I am at work. So I can do only the most necessary things, upload new versions and respond to questions, but thats it. I prefer working as a free agent not connected to one of the major mod teams, and with two exceptions I could not find people who would take over complementary tasks for Sh3Gen. The (long) thread that follows the development Sh3Gen still exists, but no one posts there: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ghlight=sh3gen While I am already more concerned about other projects, I am still monitoring the web for people responding to threads about Sh3Gen, and I am learning a lot from it. I hope to be able to release new versions, but I have no actual plans today. Honestly I can really not say whether Sh3Gen will lead to other mods released, for SHIV or other programs, or even new games I would like to develop myself, it's possible, but I cannot say now. GE |
I the SH3Gen is a new class of mod...
The "Intel Mod" Maybe thats why so few people have heard of it before now |
I use it on a fairly low setting. I like the intel, but also like knowing it's not real good.
