Reinstall now won't run
 

Hi all. I've played for ages with mods. Recently I had to reinstall so I backed out with SH3Commander and Jones Mod tool. Removed all. Reinstalled.

Now the thing won't load with any mods. It tells me a menu is missing and crashes.

I got a new copy of Grey Wolves and tried - same athing. I tried other mods, same thing.

Any ideas?:damn:

When you uninstall SH3 via Add/Remove Programs the uninstaller doesn´t delete some files, that can lead to problems. So remove it again, then delete the main SH3 dir (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII), then reinstall and patch to 1.4b.

And if that don`t work, get a registry cleaner, and delete all entries of SH3 in the registry after the uninstall.

You´ll have to delete also the /My Documents/SH3 folder.

Good advice. You should clean up the reg after an un-install anyhow.

Try reinstalling to a different directory, that worked for me.

All the advice was appreciated. I did a complete re-install after deleting the folders, and my documents stuff. It worked.

Now I am at sea again, with NYGM 2.2 mod.

I just realized something, I never have finished a patrol. I am always modding and starting new patrols !!!

This time, I'm going to complete it no matter what. Heck, I'll never get out of 1939 unless those mods stop looking so good !!!:D
